Completion of the detailed study preparation of the capsule production project from the remnants of sacrifices
Alokab company has completed a study on the production of medicinal capsules using Halah gelatin that is extracted from Adahi, the sacrificed cattle in Mecca as part of Hajj sacrificial cattle offerings ritual. With a capital of 31 million SR, the project aimed at utilizing the remnants of Ahahi and producing 21 million capsules annually. This detailed and comprehensive study included market, technical, and financial analysis and reports. Precise recommendations and a clear business plan were presented to the client, the Saudi Gelatin and Capsule Company.
The technical viability study of the project included the production line machines and the pre commercial commissioning of the factory where 200,000 capsules are planned to be produced in trail operation phase.
The General Supervisor of the Kingdom Project (Utilizing Sacrifice) and Chairman of the Saudi Gelatin and Capsule Company of the Okaz Project Ahmad Halem stated that only 90 days are away from the production of the halal capsules. He noted that 50% of the gelatin used in the manufacturing of capsules worldwide is currently extracted from non halal animals.
Such a project will improve the utilization of slaughterhouse waste by encouraging investment in the halal organic material industry so as to keep pace with the Saudi Kingdom's Vision 2030 and to enhance the environment around the holy sites. The investment introduces a new industrial sector on the national level and in the Gulf region, being it the first factory to produce gelatin and halal capsules.
